BEE HEALTHY HONEY is a startup founded by granddaughter and grandfather, Oliwia Myczkowska and prof. dr hab. Marian Surowiec, who joined forces to create the sonic Varroa Stopper device. Our mission is to improve the health of bees worldwide by introducing an ecological alternative to chemical varroa remedies.

The history of the emitter began in 2019, when we encountered the Varroa Destructor parasite in our apiary in Katowice. Wanting to cure the bees, we wanted to reach for the right product. Unfortunately, it turned out that the only available products on the market are chemicals with numerous defects. They are harmful to the health of bees, beekeepers and consumers of bee products, they are expensive and packaged in single-use plastic. In addition, their application requires significant work, and the substances quickly lose their effectiveness (due to Varroa becoming resistant to them).

Not being satisfied with such solutions, we began to look for a better, more ethical way to control varroa. Due to his long scientific career and experience working with ultrasound at Durham University, Professor Surowiec's attention was drawn to research on the response of bees to ultrasound.
